FamDisplay ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our family calendar display service at famdisplay.com.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Email address and name when you sign up or sign in with Google
- Calendar Data: Event information from your connected calendars (see Google User Data section below)
- Device Information: Device tokens for paired display devices (iPad, Apple TV, etc.)
Google User Data
FamDisplay uses Google APIs to access your Google Calendar data. This section specifically describes our practices regarding Google user data:
What Google Data We Access
- Your Google account email address and profile name (for authentication)
- Your Google Calendar events including: event title, start/end time, location, and description
- Calendar metadata such as calendar names and colors
How We Use Google Data
We use your Google Calendar data solely to:
- Display your calendar events on your FamDisplay devices
- Sync and refresh calendar data to keep your display current
- Show event details such as titles, times, and locations on your family display
We do not use your Google data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than providing the FamDisplay calendar service.
Google Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your Google user data with any third parties except:
- Service providers necessary to operate FamDisplay (Supabase for data storage, Vercel for hosting)
- When required by law or to protect our legal rights
We do not share your Google Calendar data with advertisers or data brokers.
Google Data Storage & Protection
- Your Google Calendar data is cached temporarily in our secure database to enable display functionality
- Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- Data at rest is stored in Supabase with encryption enabled
- Access to your data is restricted to authenticated requests from your account only
- We use OAuth 2.0 tokens which can be revoked at any time
Google Data Retention & Deletion
- Calendar event data is cached and refreshed periodically (typically every 15 minutes)
- When you disconnect your Google Calendar, we delete your cached calendar data
- When you delete your FamDisplay account, all your data including Google Calendar data is permanently deleted
- You can revoke FamDisplay's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions
Other Third-Party Services
In addition to Google, we integrate with:
- Apple Calendar (CalDAV): If you connect Apple Calendar, we access your iCloud calendar events
- Supabase: Cloud database for authentication and data storage
- Vercel: Website hosting
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Encrypted database storage
- Secure OAuth 2.0 authentication
- Regular security updates and monitoring
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data stored in FamDisplay
- Disconnect your calendar connections at any time
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Revoke Google access via your Google Account settings
- Request a copy of your data
Children's Privacy
FamDisplay is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
